3rd edition of the International Trade Exhibition – Fiera del Levante of Bari

The 83rd edition of the International Trade Exhibition – Fiera del Levante of Bari was a great success of corporate and institutional presence at the Country Presentantion Enabling Actions for a Sustainable SMEs Partnership and financial support in the Western Balkans: Circular Economy in Bulgaria & Ukraine and Country Desk Bulgaria.

As part of the activities to support the internationalization of Italian SMEs and initiatives aimed at promoting made in Italy in Bulgaria, based on the previous experience of collaboration with the Apulia Region and with all the regional actors active in the economic sectors, industrial (Department of Economic Development), education, research and innovation (University of Salento), tourism (Apulia Region Promotion) and cinema (Apulia Film Commission), the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria organized for the third consecutive year its presence at 83rd edition of the International General Trade Fair – Fiera del Levante, one of the most important national multi-sector trade fair events inaugurated this year by the President of the Italian Council of Ministers, Giuseppe Conte and by the President of the Apulia Region, Michele Emiliano, held in Bari from 14th to 22nd September, extending in 2019 the promotion of Bulgaria and investment opportunities with the organization of a Country Presentation entitled Enabling Actions for a Sustainable SMEs Partnership and financial support in the Western Balkans: Circular Economy in Bulgaria & Ukraine with the aim of offering local companies, a macroeconomic picture of both markets and the concrete opportunities existing in Bulgaria and Ukraine, as well as the corporate business houses, illustrating the real opportunities of the markets, and responding to the requests of organizations and companies in one-to-one meetings within the Country Desk Bulgaria, active from 16th  to 18th  September.

COUNTRY PRESENTATION “Enabling Actions for a Sustainable SMEs Partnership and financial support in the Western Balkans: Circular Economy in Bulgaria & Ukraine” on September 16th in the Workshop Room of the Regional Pavilion 150 – Internationalization Section of the Apulia Region

 Inside Pavilion 150 of the Internationalization Section of the Apulia Region, on Monday 16th September, from 15.00 to 17.30 at the Workshop Room, it was held the Country Presentation entitled “Enabling Actions for a Sustainable SMEs Partnership and financial support in the Western Balkans: Circular Economy in Bulgaria & Ukrainein the presence of 60 participants, CEO, Export manager, representatives of territorial Associations, territorial professionals, university representatives, researchers, media.

Organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and the Italy-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Internationalization Section of the Apulia Region – Department of Economic Development, Competitiveness, Economic Activities and Consumers, Energy, Networks and Material Infrastructures for Development , Internationalization, industrial research and innovation and with the technical support of Puglia Sviluppo, the initiative was included in the regional strategic program  for internationalization 2019-2020 and in the calendar of “International Forums and Country Presentations – Meetings to present opportunities on the markets foreign countries ”managed by the Internationalization Section of the Apulia Region.

The Conference presenting commercial and investment opportunities in both Balkan markets was opened by the Councilor for Economic Development – Competitiveness, Economic and Consumer Activities, Energy, Networks and material infrastructure for development, Industrial research and innovation, Cosimo Borraccino, who thanked the organizing chambers for the great teamwork with Puglia Sviluppo and for bringing to the attention of Apulian companies two interesting and full of potential markets. General Consul of Ukraine in Naples, Viktor Hamotskyi pleased to take part in the joint initiative, highlighted the importance of continuing to develop ever stronger connections between the South of Italy and Ukraine.

The session “introductory reports” was attended by the Director of the Department for Economic Development, Innovation, Education, Training and Work, Professor Domenico Laforgia who underlined the importance of the meeting and the intention to follow up the initiative with the development of a plan of incoming and outgoing actions which objectives are  the demands of the Apulian companies for the Bulgarian and Ukrainian markets.

The President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, Marco Montecchi highlighted the solid collaboration with the authorities of Apulia Region and support activities for internationalization and creation of industrial and technological collaborations already carried out in Bulgaria over the past three years, facilitated also thanks to the logistical links between Bulgaria and the Region. The President of the Italy-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Riccardo Ferretti, spoke about the macroeconomic situation in Ukraine.

Alongside the presentation of the economic trend in the countries of Bulgaria and Ukraine, a thematic panel was followed: “Activating a path of sustainable internationalization in Bulgaria and Ukraine” moderated by the Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria, Rosa Cusmano.

During the panel,  thanks to the intervention of authoritative exponents of the Bulgarian and Ukrainian entrepreneurial world such as best business cases and experience of excellence, were presented the guidelines for development and growth in the circular economy sector, in full consistency with the theme of the 2019 edition of the Fiera del Levante of Bari, as well as the financial instruments supporting the development of sustainable relations and partnerships between the Puglia Region, Bulgaria and Ukraine.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister and Deputy Director of the State Agency for savings and energy efficiency in Ukraine, Kostantyn Gura, who reported on “Efficiency improvement and energy saving as environmental protection and improvement of people’s living conditions“, Anselmo Caporossi, speaking on “Sharing economy and financial measures to support the development of initiatives in the circular economy in Bulgaria” and David Carbone of Alias ​​Group Bulgaria on “Bulgaria, a growing market that opens on the Western Balkans Area. Presentation of the Alias ​​in the Balkans project ”.

Bulgaria and Ukraine presented themselves together this year for the first time to offer companies, Associations, Universities, Institutions and professionals the wide panorama of commercial and investment opportunities in their markets and the opportunities for industrial, institutional and academic collaboration with Bulgarian and Ukrainian counterparts.

Their aim is to activate new partnerships for institutional, commercial, industrial, technological transfer cooperation in the sectors of the circular economy; to favour institutional twinnings between urban realities, agreements and formative exchanges between Associations and professional orders; to present the “business experiences” functional to the creation of new partnerships and illustrate the importance of conveying the concept of “circular economy” in support of economic growth of the two countries, in respect of environmental and social sustainability, responsible and innovative that involves the companies and the world of education and vocational training.

 

COUNTRY DESK BULGARIA from 16 to 18 September managed by the CCIB supported by the supporting member Alias Group Bulgaria

As part of the regional pavilion dedicated to support services for the internationalization of companies (Hall 150 – Fiera del Levante),  Country Desks were activated, promoted by the Internationalization Section of the Apulia Region and divided into daily sessions, where, in rotation, the commercial representatives of the diplomatic missions in Italy alternated with the representatives of the Mixed Chambers of Commerce and the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad at the disposal of the Apulian companies that were able, in this way, to have targeted interviews with market experts to operate and export in the countries of the most dynamic geographical areas worldwide.

Upon invitation of the Internationalization Section of the Apulia Region and thanks to the operational support of Puglia Sviluppo, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria actively participated in the Apulian event. Through the management of a Bulgaria Country Desk, located inside Pavilion 150 and active since 16 to 18 September, ICCB provided specialized information and consulting services and guided companies in identifying market opportunities and in choosing strategies to approach the Bulgarian market. Companies, professionals, export managers, representatives of territorial associations, university and school representatives, researchers, media, to the extent of 30 presences, were able to meet the Secretary General and the managers of Alias ​​Group Bulgaria, for first-time interviews and for the presentation of internationalization projects in Bulgaria.

During the orientation days, the President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria met with the President of ConfEuropa, Calogero Campisi, and the Vice President delegated to Agriculture, Marco Nicastro to deepen institutional and commercial collaborations in support of the network of companies in their internationalization processes on the Bulgarian and Balkan markets.
