There are ample publishing services dedicated to the values of the food model, which is confirmed to be the driving sector of the Italian economy; then ample space is given to the activities of the Chamber System, among these the “Certification of Italian Restaurants in the world”; the previews of the most representative trade fairs in the sector such as Vinitaly and Cibus and the editorials of AgroQualità and Federalimentare, which highlight their commitment to promoting the food model.
The special edition, widespread in Italy and abroad, can also be consulted online.
On April 5, Assocamerestero presented in Milan his project that promote Italy in “10 selfie”

The aim of this project is to illustrate the leaders of innovation, competitiveness and sustainability of the Italian production system on world markets. The project provides significant stop-overs in different parts of the world and it is supported by the Association of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad (ICCA) through the organization of initiatives with local opinion leaders and business communities that gather around the CCIE.
This project is in conjuction with the Bulgarian period of Presidency of the Council of the EU and for that reason the first tape in Europe Area will be in Bulgaria with the presentation of the program in Sofia, during the Italian Festival in May.
Gian Domenico Auricchio, the president of Assecamerestero has declared:” We are proud to be able to contribute with this project to the development and the diffusion of the image of “Made in Italy” and of the country, that is linked to innovative technology and sustainable solutions in the best sectors of our industry. “Made in Italy” is traditionally recognized as a reference model for the quality and the handmade, consolidated over the time. With the tour we will present a new identity of a more technical and more innovative Italy, that is able to lay the foundations for the development of the country.
Ermete Realacci, the president of Symbola explained:”Ten Selfies, are ten snapshots that highlight the leaders of our competitiveness on world markets, indicating the drivers of quality (environment, design, culture) and observing the excellent performance of sectors Made in Italy (food farming, wood forniture, mechanics, fashion, but also other sectors like pharmaceuticals). This is the Italy that Symbola shows in its work and represents in these selfies. Italy is a country made by many businesses, communities, people, associations, institutions that are united by the ambition and the challenge of quality. The country connects traditions, new technologies, research, digital and crafts, which holds together culture, green economy and competitiveness. It is Italy that makes Italy. It is a country that looks at a new model of economy based on a human scale which resembles the economy outlined by Pope Francis in Laudato Si”.
Giuseppe Tripoli, Secretary General of Unioncamere said:” The data of our exports and the high presence of foreign tourists in our country show that in the world there is high attention and a very high demand for Italy, which can still grow. This project will be very useful to the companies of “Made in Italy” and to the whole hospitality chain, because it will allow us to make known the excellences and the leaders of our production and the attraction of our country”.
Symbola, that is characterized as a true census of italian talents, it shows our country through ten snapshots, focusing on the most competitive and representative sectors of Made in Italy (food farming, wood forniture, mechanics/automation, fashion and pharmaceutical) and on the drivers of sustainable growth of our economy.

ITALIAN FESTIVAL IN BULGARIA AND MACEDONIA
Service proposal to support the eyewear sector: meetings with Bulgarian and Macedonian operators
The ICE Office of Sofia and the Skopje Match Point propose, as a service within the Italian Festival 2018 to support the eyewear sector, a day dedicated to presenting the latest trends on the market where Italian industry is very present and appreciated.
Bulgaria imports sunglasses and eyeglasses, frames and lenses. In recent years the country has also started a decent production. The main importers of eyewear are the optical chains, whose competitive advantage is mainly based on the wide range of products offered and on the large network of shops in major cities. At least 10 chains have 40 outlets. Sunglasses have the largest market share on imports of glasses and frames. The Bulgarian imports of sunglasses in 2016 amounted to over 10 million dollars and there has been a steady growth trend over the last six years, due to the increase in standard of living. Italy is the leading supplier, with a market share of around 62%, including frames.Despite being a small market, however, there are opportunities for Italian companies producing new products and medium-high-end brands, whose retail price ranges from 100 to 350 euros. The eyewear market in Macedonia is small, limited by its size (about 2.1 million inhabitants). The market value is estimated at 2.8 million dollars / year considering that in Macedonia there is no industrial production in the optical sector, therefore the entire local needs are met by the import.
Macedonia is a net importer of sunglasses, eyeglasses, frames and lenses. Italian imports can, in any case, be judged in an extremely satisfactory manner in this sector in which, despite strong Chinese competition, Italy’s share will remain dominant also in the coming years because consumers in this category have a strong preference for Italian brands, considering that it is still a fashion product.

“Italy the extraordinary commonplace”: the true Italian excellence
Italian excellence does not only revolve around the fashion, design, and perhaps the world’s most famous food and wine industry. Italy is more. It is the production of technological goods, in aerospace innovation, holds the first position in pharmaceutical exports or in the field of mechanical engineering.
This is the message of the video “Italy the Extraordinary Commonplace“, presented by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, during Word Economic Forum in Davos.

The modern world has long discovered the benefits of alternative dispute resolution – arbitration. From an historical point of view, arbitration proceeds to ordinary justice. It is an appropriate tool, an alternative to the ordinary justice of the state, which is nowadays slower and more expensive all over the world, and especially in Bulgaria. The lack of speed and the high costs do not match the needs of the business, which needs a fast and economical method and less economical weight.
Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria is pleased to inform you of the newly established arbitration at the “European Institution for mediation and arbitration” (abbreviated EIMA in Bulgarian). The body represents an adequate response to the new demands of justice, following the example of the best legal practice in the European Union. The arbitrary award passed by EIMA is applicable in Bulgaria, in all EU Member States and in States acceding to the 1958 New York Convention (the Convention for the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments).
The ADVANTAGES of the arbitration proceedings are:
- Quickness – arbitration procedures take place in a single instance, the arbitration award produces the same effects as a judgment issued by the court and the decision can not be challenged, so the award could be put into effect immediately
