From October 17th to 25th 2019 in Rome, at various institutional locations and embassies, comes the tenth edition of the first event in the world dedicated to diplomacy, geopolitics and international relations.
As part of a process for understanding and analyzing European and global phenomena, the Diplomacy Festival will borrow from the Roman mythology the title of this edition: The two faces of Janus – The Transition to a New World, summarizing the goal to work with a look to the past, for competence and experience, and one to the future for getting know the transformations underway.
The rich program will focus on three main tracks: the challenge of governance, where it will be debated geopolitics issues and international balances, a relevant topic, wich has new actors ready to take the scene whereas old figures are forced to leave it.
The dictatorship of algorithms is the theme that will analyze the innovations introduced by technology, in particular by the Internet and artificial intelligence, capable of simplifying everyday life. It also brings ethical challenges and industrial and geopolitical supremacy.
The last one, the parable of growth, will be the key to talb about the theme of sustainable development, which has led the art of diplomacy to face new challenges and specialize in environmental, cultural and commercial negotiations.
The president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria will take part in the press conference for the presentation of the 10th edition of the Diplomacy Festival on Wednesday, October 16th at Serra Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The meeting will followed by a dialogue on “Diplomacy between uncertainties and transition” between Staffan De Mistura, special representative for the United Nations in Syria and Vincenzo Nigro, journalist of the newspaper La Repubblica.
