Digital Sovereignty for Europe: imprese e istituzioni a confronto a Sofia sulla sovranità digitale europea
Il 1° ottobre 2026 si è svolto a Sofia “Digital Sovereignty for Europe”, il seminario organizzato dalla Camera di Commercio Italiana in Bulgaria insieme a Schwarz Digits Bulgaria, in collaborazione con Confindustria Bulgaria.
L’iniziativa ha riunito rappresentanti istituzionali, imprese ed esperti del settore tecnologico per un confronto su una delle sfide strategiche più rilevanti per il futuro dell’Europa: rafforzare la propria sovranità digitale e tecnologica, garantendo al tempo stesso sicurezza, resilienza e competitività al sistema imprenditoriale europeo.
Al centro del dibattito, temi quali sovranità e protezione dei dati, infrastrutture digitali, cybersecurity e intelligenza artificiale, con particolare attenzione alla necessità di sviluppare capacità tecnologiche europee solide e ridurre le dipendenze strategiche.
A offrire una prospettiva concreta su queste sfide è stato Michail Petrov, recentemente nominato CEO di Kaufland Bulgaria e già CEO di Schwarz Digits Bulgaria, che ha sottolineato il valore di infrastrutture e soluzioni tecnologiche capaci di rafforzare l’autonomia e la resilienza digitale dell’Europa.
All’incontro ha preso parte S.E. Marcello Apicella, Ambasciatore d’Italia in Bulgaria, insieme a rappresentanti di ICE – Agenzia per la promozione all’estero e l’internazionalizzazione delle imprese italiane, Confindustria Bulgaria e numerose aziende della comunità imprenditoriale italiana in Bulgaria.
La mattinata si è conclusa con una sessione di networking, favorendo il confronto diretto tra le imprese e la creazione di nuove connessioni.
La Camera di Commercio Italiana in Bulgaria ringrazia i partner, i rappresentanti istituzionali e tutte le aziende e i partecipanti presenti per aver contribuito a un importante momento di dialogo sulle prospettive della trasformazione digitale europea.

Digital Sovereignty for Europe: businesses and institutions discuss Europe’s digital future in Sofia
On 1 October 2026, Sofia hosted “Digital Sovereignty for Europe”, a seminar organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria together with Schwarz Digits Bulgaria, in cooperation with Confindustria Bulgaria.
The initiative brought together institutional representatives, businesses and technology experts to discuss one of the most relevant strategic challenges for Europe’s future: strengthening its digital and technological sovereignty while ensuring security, resilience and competitiveness for European businesses.
The discussion focused on data sovereignty and protection, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, with particular attention to the need to develop strong European technological capabilities and reduce strategic dependencies.
Providing a business and technology perspective on these challenges, Michail Petrov, recently appointed CEO of Kaufland Bulgaria and former CEO of Schwarz Digits Bulgaria, highlighted the importance of developing infrastructure and technological solutions capable of strengthening Europe’s digital autonomy and resilience.
The event was attended by H.E. Marcello Apicella, Ambassador of Italy to Bulgaria, together with representatives of ICE – Italian Trade Agency, Confindustria Bulgaria and numerous companies from the Italian business community in Bulgaria.
The morning concluded with a networking session, providing participating companies with an opportunity to exchange perspectives and establish new connections.
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria thanks its partners, institutional representatives and all participating companies and guests for contributing to an important dialogue on the future of Europe’s digital transformation.

Digital Sovereignty for Europe: бизнесът и институциите обсъдиха дигиталното бъдеще на Европа в София
На 1 октомври 2026 г. в София се проведе „Digital Sovereignty for Europe“ – семинар, организиран от Италианската търговска камара в България съвместно със Schwarz Digits Bulgaria и в сътрудничество с Confindustria Bulgaria.
Инициативата събра представители на институциите, бизнеса и технологичния сектор за дискусия по едно от ключовите стратегически предизвикателства пред бъдещето на Европа – укрепването на нейния дигитален и технологичен суверенитет, като същевременно се гарантират сигурност, устойчивост и конкурентоспособност за европейския бизнес.
В центъра на дискусията бяха суверенитетът и защитата на данните, дигиталната инфраструктура, киберсигурността и изкуственият интелект, както и необходимостта Европа да развива собствени технологични възможности и да намалява стратегическите си зависимости.
Своята бизнес и технологична перспектива представи Михаил Петров, наскоро назначен за главен изпълнителен директор на Kaufland България и бивш главен изпълнителен директор на Schwarz Digits Bulgaria, който подчерта значението на развитието на инфраструктура и технологични решения за укрепване на дигиталната автономност и устойчивост на Европа.
В събитието взе участие Н. Пр. Марчело Апичела, посланик на Италия в България, заедно с представители на ICE – Italian Trade Agency, Confindustria Bulgaria и множество компании от италианската бизнес общност в България.
Събитието завърши с нетуъркинг сесия, която даде възможност на участващите компании да обменят мнения и да създадат нови бизнес контакти.
Италианската търговска камара в България благодари на партньорите, институционалните представители, компаниите и всички гости за приноса им към този важен диалог за бъдещето на дигиталната трансформация в Европа.
